  • 2015 Neutrogena "Gold Bar" Award. Awarded to the best innovator in formulations.
  • 2012 Johnson Medal for the Development of Wet Skin Sunscreen Technology. Laura conceived of a novel chemistry approach that enabled the creation of sunscreen products that could be applied for the first time to wet/damped skin or in high humidity conditions. • US 8,236,287 B2 Aug. 7, 2012 Composition – Wet Skin Lotion (sunscreens) – A novel chemistry approach that enabled the creation of sunscreen lotions that could be applied for the first time to wet/damped skin and high humidity conditions without peeling and whitening, allowing immediate water immersion. The synergies between surface tension reduction blend, floral wax, and rice coated silica introduced in sunscreen compositions, broad spectrum UVA/UVB.
• US 6,200,964 B1 Mar.13, 2001. Silicone Gel – This product combines the oil absorbing properties of the synthetic polymers (crosslinked polydimethylsiloxane) in conjunction with Pours Silica for long term mattifier effect, oil controlling of the T-Zone. This resulted in the first skin primer on the market.

• Scientific Expert in the 360 communication for Neutrogena Sun Care in 3 separate American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) meetings and Posters: Laura's novel sunscreen technologies were the subjects of one of the best posters of each year at AAD annual meetings.
• 2013 “Enhancing Skin Hydration by Sunscreen.” Design a novel sunscreen formulations with glycerin and other skin hydrators, provided superior skin hydration efficacy, reversing the UV exposure skin dehydration compared to controls and alternative products available on the market; Product launched 2012: Aveeno Sunscreen Lotion Broad Spectrum Protection + All Day Hydration, SPF 30,50,70
• 2011 “Design and Testing of a Physical Sunscreen for Use on Sensitive Skin.” Designed a mineral sunscreen formulation with high UVA/UVB sun protection efficacy (critical wavelength 373), developed specifically for babies and individuals with very sensitive skin. Achieved national Eczema Society guidelines for mildness not met by the leading competitors of mineral sunscreens.
• 2003 “Innovative Sunscreens with Patented Dry-Touch Technology – Neutrogena First Ultra Sheer and Active Breathable Sunblocks SPF 30 and 45.” The oily skin feel is the most likely reason for under-application of sunscreens by the consumer. Polymeric emulsifier and the oil absorbent silica synergistically reduce the oily heavy feel yet retain high sun protection efficacy. In use safety clinical testing revealed strong consumer appeal and confirmed performance benefits. This new technology established new high aesthetic standards worldwide in the Sun Care category marketplace leveraged by J&J across all its Sun Care brands.
